‘Someday’ better get here quick! And, that’s the lesson for today.
About Eddie Fluellen
Welcome to Fluellen Music…in case you didn’t guess, I’m Eddie, and here is a little bit about me:
Born in Barberton, Ohio and raised in Akron, I am a proud graduate of John R. Buchtel High School, home of the mighty Griffins. I played piano, trombone and tuba in the music program under James Lucas. My private classical piano training was under the tutelage of Ms. Nellie Whittaker, a teacher I was both proud to have known and been instructed by.
I LOVE music. I appreciate and respect it. I love all types of music. I love the many players and performers who feel the same way. My musical influences and tastes are vast and diverse. I am a founding member of Motown recording artists SWITCH, a band formed in December 1976. We were discovered and managed by Jermaine Jackson and former wife Hazel Joy Gordy and signed in May of 1977 having never performed together as a band until our first (and only) tour….four years later. The band members: Gregory Williams, Jody Sims, Phillip Ingram, Bobby DeBarge, Tommy DeBarge, and me. SWITCH went on to record five albums for Motown, the first two going gold and producing such chart-topping R&B hits as, “There’ll Never Be”, “I Wanna Be Closer” and “I Call Your Name”. We also recorded one LP for the Total Experience record label, “Am I Still Your Boyfriend?”
I have remained in the music business for almost 40 years now and have recorded and performed with a long list of artists. I’ve also written music for television and movies. I am always interested in learning new and different things. I still perform live with many different acts, I’m excited about my new group Fluellen and am extremely proud to announce SWITCH is back together and performing again!
I look forward to seeing you soon.
